Our Suspended Basket Services
Fair Wind Renewable Energy Services, LLC owns and operates multiple suspended basket services crews. We began in the wind industry by providing exterior up-tower access via suspended basket, which has made us very knowledgeable in providing lift access and services.
Through exhaustive training and with highly skilled professional staff, we operate Tractel’s Skysafe Basket Platform. For easy exterior access to the blades of the wind turbines, the Tractel SkySafe Blade Maintenance Platforms assist in the inspections and maintenance of the rotor blades, making the job easier and more cost effective.
Safety Is Always First
As safety is always a concern, we utilize two stainless steel cables, with one being a drive cable and one being a safety cable. This is an extra step we have always taken to ensure the securement of the basket. Fair Wind Renewable Energy Services, LLC also uses two safety ropes rigged from the top of the nacelle, in which the basket personnel will tie off to with rope grabs for a third safety backup lifeline.
Suspended Basket Services Can Be Cost Effective
Admittedly truck mounted platforms, like the Palfinger WT-1000 and the Socage TJJ230, can usually be more cost effective. Time on site to up tower is only a matter of minutes. Sometimes, the suspended basket services offer a cost effective solution, itself, to wind farms that have small projects where mobilizing heavy equipment is not an efficient or cost effective option at that location.
